At Cosentino, contrasts between hard and soft materials take center stage

Many can relate to the experience of standing in an empty room with bare concrete walls, where even the faintest sound of a pin drop resonates clearly. In Cosentino's premises in northern Gothenburg, this could have been the everyday reality if not for a collaboration with Götessons. The reason? Cosentino's primary products are ceramics and other stone composites. Naturally, the company wanted to showcase its core materials in the office design.

However, hard surfaces like floors and walls create significant challenges with sound reflection, making sound-absorbing solutions essential. Through their partnership with Götessons, ceilings and walls have been equipped with sound-absorbing elements in various shapes and colors. For example, the room divider Pendula Wave has been installed in the large open conference area, alongside Honey, Collage and Sound off Cloud. Every office and meeting room has been fitted with sound absorbers, many featuring custom-printed designs inspired by the company’s operations.

Above the kitchen area hangs “Off the Grid,” a feature combining sound-absorbing panels, lighting, and decorative garlands. The raw material EcoSUND, known for its exceptional acoustic properties, also offers flexibility in shape and color, making it both a practical and playful interior design choice.
