Acoustics that stand out and make a difference
When Länsförsäkringar IT moved into its new premises in Sundsvall, the ambition was to create an inspiring and distinctive office environment, far removed from traditional layouts with rows of screens. With such a large open plan office, acoustics became an important part of the project from the very beginning. Working closely with Götessons’ 3D department, the required level of sound absorption was calculated. Based on these calculations, suitable products and their placement were carefully selected to create the right acoustic conditions while contributing to the office’s playful character.
A variety of acoustic solutions have been used throughout the open spaces. Wall absorbers are combined with suspended ceiling absorbers and desk screens, helping to absorb sound at different levels throughout the room. The suspended products play a particularly important role in the open plan environment, providing visual separation while absorbing sound waves that would otherwise travel freely across the large, open areas.
Overhead, products such as Sound Off, Off the Grid with garlands, Cobogo and Pendula Sky become distinctive design features. Elsewhere, printed wall absorbers, comfortable Office Naps and Plant Dividers filled with greenery add variety between workstations and communal spaces. Furniture from Götessons’ sister company Scan Sørlie was chosen for the meeting areas, including Tekla conference tables, Tekla conference chairs, Tekla chairs and bar stools, as well as McBar.
The result is an office where acoustics do more than serve a practical purpose. They become an integral part of the interior design. On the walls, suspended from the ceiling and between workstations, the different solutions work together to create a calmer, more welcoming and inspiring workplace.
