Sponsorship
Götessons Design Group engages with various organizations and associations to increase the organization's local roots and support organisations that align with GDG's values, primarily through sponsorship. In 2022, a sponsorship policy was developed, which will be further refined over the years to expand requirements related to equality. The policy outlines fundamental principles that the association or organization must adhere to in order to enter into sponsorship agreements. Examples include meeting GDG's core values and code of conduct, as well as actively pursuing initiatives related to drug prevention and gender equality. Currently, Götessons Design Group sponsors the following associations and organizations.
PROJECT: RESTORE
Götessons is involved in Project: Restore, a project aimed at restoring wetlands locally in Sjuhärad. Restoring wetlands is an effective way to store and sequester carbon while also improving the biodiversity in the area.
OCEAN ALLIANCE
Together for a sea free of plastic - Akustikmiljö is engaging in the Marine Alliance to realize the vision of a cleaner ocean. Akustikmiljö has committed itself to significantly reducing the use of virgin plastic material and minimizing the discharge of plastic waste from its operations. Additionally, local initiatives are being implemented to prevent plastic from ending up in the sea through beach clean-ups in Falkenberg.
NOLL TOLERANS
The organization's idea is to provide all schools in Sweden with free anti-bullying materials. No school should have to prioritize this issue due to financial reasons. The organization's commitment is national.
GIVING PEOPLE
A charity with a vision that no child in Sweden should live in exclusion or poverty. Giving People works to counteract economic vulnerability and child poverty. GDG engages locally in Ulricehamn and assists, among other things, with food parcels.
MOMENTA
GDG sponsors Momenta, a company that annually distributes over 500,000 traffic safety products to children in Sweden. Many are familiar with the initiative through Flexbert, reflective products provided to children in schools and preschools across Sweden. Local engagement in Ulricehamn and Falkenberg.
ACTIVE SCHOOL
Active School educates and lectures for teachers, school nurses, and other school staff on topics such as mental health issues, grooming, and bullying, as well as for guardians and students in primary school. GDG has a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying and abusive behaviors, which is why the commitment is significant. The organization's commitment is national.
CLASS SKIING
Students from grades 3 and 4 in Ulricehamn are treated to a skiing experience with joy and camaraderie as guiding principles. Children and cancer do not belong together! Together with all students and other collaborative partners, they aim to make a contribution to the Childhood Cancer Foundation. During the Class Skiing event, students will collect as many laps as possible, with the number of laps then being converted into a monetary sum that each partner donates to the Childhood Cancer Foundation.
ULRICEHAMNS IF
As a sponsor of UIF, GDG supports the club's efforts in both grassroots and elite levels. The association has over 125 youth members and 40 leaders and aims to become a club for both recreational cross-country skiers as well as those aiming for the elite level. We have also assisted in furnishing a lounge area in the UIF cabin to create a space for youth. Local engagement in Ulricehamn.
HALMSTAD PADEL CLUB
We support Halmstad Padel Club and its 160 youths. As a non-profit organization, their ambition is to invest in the youth, working to create opportunities for them to train and compete. Family finances should not be a barrier for children to participate in sports and experience a sense of community. They cater to children and youths in the municipality of Halmstad.
ÖRESJÖ SAILING CLUB
GDG sponsors a lounge for the association's youth aimed at creating a sense of community and security. Local engagement in Borås.
UKRAINE - AR BROWSER
The hostilities initiated by the Russian leadership in Ukraine affect us all. We have chosen to collaborate with AR Browser, a company that produces high-quality 3D models and renderings of furniture. They are based in Ukraine. We choose to use their services to provide them with the most revenue.
UKRAINE
The corporation has its own factory in Lithuania (UAB Scan Sørlie), and we want to contribute to social projects, especially in the local community where we are grateful to operate our business. We wanted to contribute to a project where one of our partners renovated premises to accommodate and house up to 10 Ukrainian families. Our contribution was the donation of furniture and labor.
OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALIZATION KENYA 2023
Scan Sørlie is a proud contributor to the project "Occupational Specialization Kenya 2023" aimed at assisting the local community in Giribe. Three families have built houses with the funds raised. A Medical Camp was organized where all examinations, treatments, and medications were provided free of charge. This meant that a total of 2010 patients received medical assistance over the course of three days. Patients of all ages and with various types of illnesses were treated. A vaccination program for young girls against HPV virus was also conducted, along with the distribution of nutritious food to families with limited financial means and no employment. In total, approximately 80 families received food for about 2 months.
THE DOCTOR'S MISSION
For several years, GDG has reduced giveaways in favor of tree planting in collaboration with The Doctor's Mission. In recent years, GDG has planted trees for every visitor who has come to our booths or live broadcasts at trade fairs. In sub-Saharan Africa, deforestation and unsustainable agricultural practices have long been a problem as the soil is depleted and deserts expand. Tree planting improves the local climate and provides timber, firewood, or fruit that people in the area greatly benefit from. In 2023, we made a contribution to tree planting for the 2669 individuals who visited our booth at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2023, equivalent to planting approximately 2500 trees in Niger.
